Gram Supporting Liver Disease Awareness

Project 12-12-12 for the month of February is featuring Kim of Hope Whispers. Kim is living with a rare form of liver disease known as Budd-Chiari Syndrome. Kim is going to need a liver transplant. I am spending the month of February learning more about Kim, liver disease, and liver transplantation.

My Grandmother AKA Gram, showing support of Kim. Gram is rocking a liver awareness support bracelet to her doctor’s appointment! Go Gram. May you be inspired to learn about liver disease and prevention. Blessings.

  1. Marissa,

I love the fact that you are focusing on liver diseases in February. It hits close to home for me. Although he doesn’t suffer from Budd-Chiari Syndrome, my Dad suffers from another not very common liver disease. Primary Biliary Cirrhosis is a disease that scars and swells the liver and biliary ducts leaving it unable to adequately drain off toxic fluids. Here is a link for more information. http://www.liver.ca/liver-disease/types/primary-biliary-cirrhosis.aspx

Keep up the great work, Marissa.

  2. Thank you so much T! I appreciate you sharing your dad’s condition. I didn’t realize there are so many different forms of liver disease! Learning so much.

    Much love,
    Marissa
