Peachy, age 28, is “being the change you wish to see”. This all came after her diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis and diagnosed at the age of 16. At the beginning, she decided to keep quiet about her disease but always chose to be happy and chase her dreams regardless of her circumstances.Time had passed and she was already fulfilling some of her dreams.
She graduated from college with honors, started a great path towards a successful career, and engaged, now married to her soul mate. But one dream always lingered. She always wanted to volunteer. It then spoke to her – volunteer her time at the Arthritis Foundation. Since then, Peachy has sprouted like a beautiful flower.
Recently awarded as the 7 Everyday Hero Winner by her local news station The Denver Channel, an award given to Coloradans who initiate solutions, motivate others, represent or serve working families and work on a nonprofit basis; she was awarded based on her continuous efforts with the Arthritis Foundation Denver Arthritis Walk as volunteer since 2006, Event Co-Chair since the 2009 Denver Arthritis Walk and her devoted determination on a national level as the Social Media Chair. But Peachy wanted to share her story, experience, and opinion even more – especially with those who suffer with arthritis in their young adult life.
She shares this on her blog titled “Peachy Pains” by giving real life examples like living in a fix-and-flip home, fulfilling her 27 New Year resolutions before 2013, recipe ideas and the amazing traveling adventures she encounters. Peachy hopes that by sharing her life on her blog that everyone realizes they have the choice to be happy and to never give up on chasing their dreams.
